27 March 2002
Attention : All National Movements
From : Wong Yock Leng, Regional Women’s Coordinator
Subject : Women Doing Theology 2002
Dear SCMers,
Warm greetings from WSCF AP! I hope all of you are keeping well and in good
spirit!
I write to inform you that the Regional Women’s Programme, Women Doing
Theology (WDT) will be held on 1st to 10th September 2002, in
Aotearoa/New Zealand. We are inviting all National Movements to send one woman
participant to this programme.
It has been a very long time since we had a programme in the Pacific and hence
Aotearoa/New Zealand was chosen to be the venue for WDT for 2002. The theme
for this year is Women and the Bible : Women as Leaders and Aotearoa/New
Zealand is an excellent place to host this programme as it offers many
examples of women leaders in its socio-religion-economic-political context.
However, there are very strict entry rules and regulations to Aotearoa/New
Zealand and thus, I am making an early request to all National Movements to
select a participant to this programme. An early selection will enable early
application of entry visa, this will help to avoid late application which
could result in not granting the entry visa to the participant. Hence, we
would have full participation from all National Movements.
Therefore, I hope for your kind support and help to this programme to make an
early selection of the participant to WDT 2002. Please give me the name of
your participant by 1st May 2002 and I will disseminate more information
regarding the preparation of this programme later on. Kindly refer to the
Concept Paper for the Criteria for participants.
Please feel free to contact me should you need more information or if there
are any queries. Thank you very much and your help in this matter is warmly
appreciated.
In Christian service,
Yock Leng
