Re : National General Secretaries(Coordinators) Meeting of the WSCF-AP

Date : May 1, 2000

Dear friends,

Warm greetings from Hong Kong.  The work of the regional office is going very well with your concern and support.

I am writing this letter to inform you of the 2nd General
Secretaries(Coordinators) Meeting of the WSCF-AP.  The Standing Comm.meeting(Feb, 2000) recognized the importance of GS meeting in terms of national, regional and international coordination after the SC members shared a good evaluation on the first GS meeting which was held in 1998. The SC approved the GS meeting as one of the regular activities of AP region.  Therefore, from this year on, the GS meeting will be held on biannual basis.

The agenda of the 2nd GS meeting will be as follows;

1. To share the situations of the national movements and to find out the strategy to strengthen the national movements
2. To Strengthen the relationship between national movements and regional office and inter regional office
3. To Search for the long-term perspectives and visions for the WSCF-AP and whole Federation as well
4. To discuss the current issues of the WSCF-AP

The date will be Oct. 15(arrival)-20(departure), and the venue will be the Christian guest house in Bangkok, Thailand.  I will let you know the detailed schedule later on.  If you have any suggestion on this meeting, let us know by 15th of July, and give us your confirmation of participation also by 15th of July.  After we confirmed the participants of the meeting, we will send you the final information packages.

Regarding the financial policy, the regional office asks SCM of Aotearoa, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan to pay at least 30% of the airfare.  The local expense will be fully covered by the regional office.  Of course, all of you should bear the airport tax, visa fee, local transportation costs in your countries.

I will look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely yours,

Shin Seung Min
Regional Secretary
